Congratulations Professor Asha Bowen OAM

ASID member Professor Asha Bowen has been recognised for her ‘service to medicine in the field of clinical diseases’ in the King’s Birthday 2024 Honours, receiving the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in the General Division.

She has served as the Co-Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ANZPID) committee, Deputy Chair of ASID Clinical Research Network and in 2023, became the first ever female President of the World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (WSPID).

I'm honoured to be recognised for my contributions in Australia as an infectious disease paediatrician, and to be amongst a group of amazing Australians making a difference every day. None of this would be possible without colleagues across ASID and the research world, family and friends.
